Sure. I'd guess that most people stopped reading past the first post once the thread turned stupid. But none of that diminishes the fact that the thread did indeed turn stupid. It's one thing to act like idiots in the Void, its another to do it site wide.

I don't think I'm the only person who thinks it ironic that the admins and mods intended this thread to reinforce a decorum of maturity while aforementioned admins and mods looked like bitter, argumentative 12 year olds in the process.
