Title says it all really, i'm currently doing a lot of work away and will be continuing to do for the next month or so and where i'm staying has no interwebs and not a lot to do in the way of entertainment. I'm powering my way through all the command and conquers that were released as abandonware last month and have located my red alert 2 disc too. What else can you recommend? if i had the internet i'd certainly look at picking world of warcraft up again, but that's not an option :<.

i never really enjoyed playing bots at q3, ctf was always fun, but ffa and tdm seemed to always have rotating 'battle areas' that if you're not where the bots all are at the same time as them you gots no frags. might play though quake ii tho. oo and and hl2

Give Torchlight a go. It runs acceptably well on my 2008 MacBook under Bootcamp.
Oh yeah, and World of Goo.
And Lumines.
And if you're feeling brave, Dwarf Fortress.

Runs like BS on intel GMA. Macbook has an ATI/NVidia I'm guessing.

Lame, I was just reading about it on their site and they said they could play it on netbooks.

Well looks like both sides of the coin then. I was playing on a netbook. Something with a bit more grunt might be able to hack it with an Intel chip.
Mine loaded (took about 5 minutes per load) and framerate was okay with super-ugliest settings, but the mouse response was really laggy which didn't work with the click & drag mechanic.

Start playing the collection of id Tech 3 games, if you haven't played some of them already.
Medal of Honor, Call of Duty (and expansions), Heavy Metal, Alice, Star Wars Jedi Knight II, Star Wars Jedi Academy, Wolfenstein, etc.

In the same vein as this...if you want a more light-hearted and not-as-deep sim experience try Tropico.

360 and ps3 controllers both do the trick apparently. Had trouble with the xbox controllers but not much with the ps3 one. A buddy and I would hook up a few to a netbook I had and play snes games on his TV. It's pretty sweet having a gigantic vintage game library at your fingertips for fun.
And the Battletoad/Dungeons and Dragons game is fucking impossible.
