Game Locking Up due to Mouse?

hey..

I bought a new mouse, and I wanted to get the ol'school attached by wire to computer style, but I couldn't find a place that sells them...so, I ended up having to by a wireless mouse which I hate for certain reasons..but anyways. I bought the:

Microsoft IntelliPoint: Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 Model:1359


I have a:

HP Pavilion a1210n
3500+ AMD Athlon 64Processor
Integrated ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 Graphics
512MB Memory
200GB Harddrive

While I play...in the middle of moving around, my monitor screen will turns itself off like when I turn off the computer, and all I hear when that happens is the last sound that was made...and it sounds like a damn buzzsaw. I'm happy that it isn't causing my speakers to explode. I've had this sort of thing happen in the past, but not like this.

It's happening very often to where I can't even play, so I'm wondering if it's from the new wireless mouse or is it something else? I'm about to grab the real shotgun and SHOOT THE DAMN COMPUTER!!! Thx Guys

Unplug the mouse and run with an old one for while, see if it persists.

How often is it happening and how long does it last? When it recovers (if it does) what happens first, screen comes back or sound comes back?

I pulled the mouse out and tried it with an older mouse, and the problem still existed. Then I went into the Add or Remove Programs to uninstall the mouse, because the mouse didn't come with a disc..so I uninstalled it that way. Now the problems gone.

So what do I do now with finding a mouse that doesn't do this, does this happen to other people, and are there still stores out there that still sell mouses with cords. I have a hard time understanding why you can only buy cordless mouses now. I know technology is always advancing, but eh.. I really like that mouse also.

Well if it's an option, take that mouse back and get a refund.

Corded mice are absolutely still available, but you may have to look at the gaming-oriented ones e.g. Logitech mx518, g9, or Razor brand. Whereabouts are you located?

You could try running the mouse without the software installed. Should work.

I returned it..got it at Best Buy, so I got a refund. I looked there for a corded mouse and all they had was shit. Finally found one at Target Greatland..and it works, but it freakin tiny in my hand. It's Logitech which is the name brand I've always bought..15 bucks..which is pretty cheap(y). I have to curl back my ring finger, where I'm used to having it straight and clenched to the left to hold the mouse. Gonna give myself tendinitis...what angle do you have your ring finger at, curved or straight? My playing ability is gonna suck for a while.

Which model mouse?

Ring finger is usually fairly straight, pressing left on the side of the mouse.

It's the Logitech V100 Optical (mouse for Notebooks) <<which is under the name. I'm obviously not using it for notebooks..and it's for a laptop. I had to by an extension cord for it to reach the rear of my tower. There wasn't a model for it on the counter so I just eyed it up and grabbed it. It's just too small. I was liking the shape of it, and how there's a lip over the right side which kind of balances over the ring finger on my right hand. I neglected to think of the length..uh duh
