What is it like to have your wisdom teeth taken out?

If someone could tell me what happens when they are pulled, what can happen if they are not, and when you'll know that you need to take of them before they become a problem, I would appreciate it very much. Had mine removed a week ago, it was quick and painless (Yay for local anesthesia)
They tell you to bite a piece of cloth for 15mins and then change it (blood, you know, that can get messy). I got 5 extra pieces o' cloth for that.
The hole will slowly heal by itself. Also be prepared to be annoyed by 1) biting the cloths 2) food getting stuck in the hole
