Technocore H-666

Hi guys!
I show you here my very first map, created for Quake 3 Arena 1v1, FFA and TDM (with few players, like 2v2 or 3v3) gametype, called Technocore H-666.
On this map, you will fight on a big computer station with some traps (2 traps exactly)

If there's something wrong, feel free to tell me what's the problem or what ever you want :)

for a first map i have to say good job so far man. looks like it could do with a little more detail. but as i said before... for a first map well done.

That's looking pretty solid for a first map! I hope you will keep them coming. =)

Some things you should look into:
- creating a bot file
- clipping
- your Lava trap causes z-fighting

Besides, your automatically shooting rockets scared me to death. :toothy:

I modified some things on the map, like the lava trap, that doesn't cause z-fighting anymore, the "Quake III Arena" banner have been replaced by a "MC_ARMDM1" banner, a "Warning" have been placed not very far from the "guarded" lightning gun, and some other things :)

why teh fack are your images 1.4 meg each? thats the size of my latest map, dude, jpgs...

Try entering "\bind f12 screenshotJPEG" in q3's console (without quotes). This will output JPG screens instead of TGAs.

I've had a look at it, some suggestions and comments:
  • that launch pad takes you right into the lava if you use the way launch pads are usually used (just walk onto it), this is annoying. give it some more power.
  • currently the place where RL is is a dead end. you need some way that leads up to the LG area there imo
  • how do you get the QUAD? only way I found was to rocket jump there
  • why are the 5 or 6 packages of PG ammo in the same spot (and why is there no PG)?!
  • your lava trap still causes z-fighting for me, and if you fall into it and look down you can see that something else is going wrong with it
  • I like the blue lights you used in the lower part of the walls in the generator room, those look great!

Hum... You must have missed the PG, because when I run my map, I can see this weapon on the generator room, on the ground, under the trapped launch ramp...

Anyway, thank you for your comments, I will see how I can modify my map to make it better. :)
