The skybox is bugging for me (despite deleting the beta of ctf13).

Remove the fog. Also as I said all the platforms need floor trim. =)

It feels a bit cramped at the moment, I think some more space and paths would improve the situation.
Anyway, it looks like a fun map. Just a bit of too many Jumpads for my taste.

I like the design of it, color theme, the fog etc. Very nice looking small map. I suggest to swap RL with PG, and to put RL insted of GL. PG will bring semi-long range weapon into map (which it could use, and that's good there is no RG there

), and GL is just not serious on this map

. Imo, the weakest part of the map is the skybox. Althought I love the idea of it, I don't like the fact it's very low-res (doesn't fit the quality of the whole map), and that it's static. Somehow static skybox with all those clouds and everything looks very much wrong for me

. If you did that skybox, maybe you could try to create high-res version? And maybe try adding some moving clouds too

i made the skybox uber low rez 256x256 so it was a small d/l. full credit goes to hipshot for it. im thinking of doing a portal sky but i need to find a tutorial, or take my time and pick apart one of socks insano levels.
ill fix up the weapons now. thanks as all ways shadow. boosh

This was done before me by rgoer or pjw (but with a sphere), don't remember - and probably more people too - never seen that though.

here is yet another wee update. used shadows weapon layout idea and added a bit more space by moving the lowest platform another 256x128 units. now the low jps make more sense and the lvl overall feels a bit more comfortable. also changed the destination of one of the outer jps.

I fixed skybox seams ages ago, with Kat and Obsidian's help...back in the dim and distant mapcenter past. Been using the fix ever since....spherified cube, portal sky, blah blah.....
Q3 OI apparently has fixed the seams issue....just saying like

I must say I quite enjoyed this small level

. Obviously, it's not an uber pro dueal map, but rather small fun ffa map, and that's how I tested it (still did some 1v1 game on it). Fun to play

. I like how it works now, one thing I would consider, is adding another 25h (or maybe even 50h) near SG (lower floor), as almost all the time I needed some health

My only concern is that static skybox. I'm really not comfortable with how does it feel now, it looks like time stopped, and it's wrong. As I mentioned earlier, you can try to add clouds layers to the map, but from my own experiance I know it can be tricky and cause some troubles. In case you would try this, I can try to help you, since I get a little more knowledge about it since Rotten soul

Also I have this crazy idea, but unforunately it's not possible to do it with q3 engine :/. It would be cool to make all the structures func_plat, so all the things would move up and down. I mean main structures, plus the pg ledge, and floating jumppads, all moving with different velocities and heights

btw, just look at this screenshot, the map is beautifil, looks almost like some pretty painting

Yeah, but somebody drew strange arrows onto the painting!
But more or less seriously: although Shadow may be inspiring confidence with the major part of his suggestions: pleeeease don't make the platforms move up and down, left and right or whatever! I just had to play space floaters with moving platforms for reviews over at LvL and ouch, those suck!

as for the sky box. i agree adding animation to it will really add that extra layer of immersion. im picking apart hipshots zip and figuring out how these portal skies work.

Hey, here are some of those ideas we were talking about earlier.
RA where MH is.
MH where YA is.
YA where shotty is.
RL above where YA is now.
Switch PG and LG.
Put some shards or 5 health on island.
TP exit infront of where LG is now.
I might re-think some of this. I think the above is a pretty generic item set and you could probably get more creative with it.

I want to see more islands. The map doesn't need to get much bigger, but some of the jump pads out in the open (off the side of the map) seem almost pointless. Maybe add another level by making some more floating platforms above the main part of the map. I would also like to see a grenade launcher.
It's pretty fun, though. Consider some of what Pat said, he knows what he's talking about.
