the old games were popular because vocal sounds and interactive environments were still a bit of a novelty. not sure how you'd take those now standard game elements and turn them into something people care about. the lowbrow comedy would be hard to bring up to date as well - and like whiskey said, how many folks are even going to know what duke nukem was?

Yay, Gearbox... So on PC we can expect a shitty console port with a patch no less than 6 monthes later... Joy...

What? You mean this?
Duke Nukem 3D is the 3D sequel to the original 2D side-scrollers "Duke Nukem" and "Duke Nukem II".
This game release should coincide with Die Hard 5...

I'm not gonna say it, but you know what I'm thinking.
Still, it looks entertaining, regardless. Also, I want that Duke 360 pad.

Hahaha... if it were still controlled by previous management, I bet there would be an announcement in April saying that the game is once again being delayed because they decided to switch engines and start development from scratch.
As it is, I'm pretty confident that Gearbox has actually finished the game this time and will actually publish it. I don't think the game will be worth the 12 year wait, I think it'll be just an average shooter. I'll probably give it a run-through if I can pick it up on sale.

the sad part is that they will probably market it as the game thas has been in development for 12 years (!!! must b oresum!1) while the actual finished product most likely only took 2 years or so to make.
wtf is with youtoob embedding lately? it's all fucky
nothing's wrong with it if you edit it manually yourself - which is what i thought everyone was doing anyway

tbh it just looks like serious sam on the d3 engine, with stock duke catchphrases thrown in
smart money says turns out to be just a very average game
