Releases today. Anyone picking it up? If so, let us know what you think. I'm on the fence. Fallout 3 kicked ass, but I haven't heard much about this one...

xer0s wants everyone here to be his beta tester so that we can give his opinion for him.
What a fag.

I really enjoyed FO3, but the crashes were a put off. I'll wait on this one to see if they've got their act together a bit.

Written and developed by most of the guys who did the originals, iirc. So far, I'm 10 hours into it and it's much, much better than Fallout3.

Despite Obsidian’s fan-service, Fallout: New Vegas is a heaping pile of bugs. Common sights are characters falling through the world, single-digit framerates, frozen enemies, sound effects cutting out, and characters that change voices mid-conversation. I’ve had reputations reversed and weapons disappear from my inventory, only to go back to normal an hour later, and my two companions are currently stuck inside a room in New Vegas. The latter might be for the best anyway, as they kept shooting up the joint.
*tsk*

Bugs are still prominent though in the engine and I’ve had my share of oddities that happened in the game. For example, I walked into a bar and saw one of the patrons standing in the middle of a table as if he had noclip on and phased in there. I also experienced a lock up or two where the entire game froze just by walking around in the desert. My game’s installed on the hard drive so I don’t attribute it to a disc read error and no other game on my hard drive locks up randomly. When playing this type of game though with so much content, you’re bound too run into a few bugs that crept through the testing phase but it’s just disappointing to see it creep up more so than not on an engine that’s a few years old.
fuck i'm tired of busted ass games... i'll wait 'til it's patched.

fuck... and no co-op?
wtf... maybe i'll skip it completely. seems like such a cash whore fallout 3.2 type of game.
Though the hardcore mode is very interesting i doubt it's worth $50.
probably shit piles of recycled art content as well.

Obliv engine can't do any form of multi without some serious hackery, so I'm not surprised that's not present.
Shame about the bugs.

oh and the only new thing they added to and old and tired engine is the hardcore mode. yay.
They aren't even enticing me to pirate the game let alone pay for it.
