unless you have something very interesting to talk about (work for Pixar, for example) or have family members and friends that say they'll read it, don't bother, no one cares.

I'm not a hardcore blogger myself, but it might be good for friends that you rarely get to see or talk to, and my guess is, in a couple of years, reading through your old entries would be fun.
