Design a map, get a bachelors degree

Check this out. Some student at the "Iqra University" in Islamabad (Pakistan) designed a Quake 3 level based on his university campus, wrote a 70 page document about it which for at least 40% exists out of copy-pasted text from the GtkRadiant and Q3Map2 manuals and he got himself a BA degree with it.
And what surprises me most is that the level is not technically impressive in any way, the final report written on it is more or less a beginner's tutorial on how to use the tools to create Quake 3 maps and, really, what he's doing here is something 13 year olds are doing as a past time hobby.
He calls his map "IQRA DEATH ARENA" and more about it (screenshots, video and the final report he wrote on it) can be found here:

Honestly though, compared to this I think tnf has little to worry about when it comes to the US educational system.

Yes, but "by the grace of ALLAH Almighty [he] was successful in completing this project alone in approx 11-months".
That must count for something.

Odd. The quote below doesn't sound like someone working for 11 months on a BA end-of-year assignment

Actually yes we can make maps for our university or campuses because its only for fun & i got permission from my campus to make this map. I will improve my efforts next time & will try something new as its my first try & created it in short time.

I could probably get my doctorate degree at Iqra University if this is the required level to get a BA. I'll just send them a copy of the Q3Map2 manual.
I think he's also distributing the entire Q3 game directory, downloading right now to check.
Eraser, how did you find out about this?

This is a sham, his BA flies in the face of everything my BS from Al-Qaeda Polytechnic stands for.

It's probably true. I have a BA and it took practically zero effort to get it.
Useless degree and i've never had to show it to a single employer/client since I got it. In fact, I have no idea where the damn thing actually is.

I've never met a Pakistani or Indian with any sort of scholastic ethic. This doesn't surprise me at all.
One of the Indian masters students at my Uni submitted a thesis where he essentially reviewed software firewalls. On the other hand, one of my friend was involved in the research that led to 802.11 N. Apples and oranges.
When I graduated (BSc), we were personally asked to stay for the PHD program because "the level of talent coming from overseas does not compare to the talent we lose to employers." My entire graduating class is respectfully employed.
I continue to see this lack of Middle Eastern ethic in the corporate world.
HIS TOP 6 REFERENCES ARE FUCKING WIKIPEDIA. I wrote a god damn Java compiler (in Java no less) as a graduation requirement. If I ever see IQRA University on a resume it's going in the trash.

Maybe you were just a good student. But I'm sure you didn't graduate by doing something on the level of creating a rather poor Quake 3 map.

But does this mean they're inherently less intelligent, more lazy, or more prone to lack a moral compass?
So difficult to keep track of racial stereotypes these days

on the plus side, a degree from "Iqra University" is worthless outside of pakistan. even a diploma from stoke on trent poly is worth more than that
