... except none of them were in-game trailers, or the in-game ones did indeed suck.

Thanks for the link. Rage is looking more and more interesting. If they can manage to combine classic Id run n' gun with a larger storyline and environment it will be awesome.

"the authority", "the resistance", "our group is small but dedicated", "take him to the kill room!"

no expense spent on the writing i see :disgust:

well you have to consider the setting.

Decimated population, only needs to refer to such things as "the authority" and "the resistance" simply because they are probably the only authority /resistance of any kind. as far as the population of that world goes, any more descriptive terms to describe the above amongst them, would just seem a bit pretentious.

"take him to the kill room!" again a simple phrase composed by a simple brute....makes sense.

The only one that you can have some gripe about is "our group is small but dedicated". but even that, for such a thin population which has been disconnected by any literature, media, "food for thought" kind of input for years, is again indicative of the situation.

1) unless this "authority" (and the "resistance" opposed to it) happen to be global in scope, there could be many authorities and resistances to said authorities

2) "i liek cheese herpa derpa" is a simple phrase composed by a brute. "take him to the kill room" is the utterance of person smart enough to possess power (and hence have the authority to give orders such as "take him to the kill room" - as opposed to politely asking: "would you mind awfully taking him to the kill room? - if it's not too much trouble old chap")

3) "our group is small but dedicated" sounds like blurb from a brochure, not a passing comment by a post-apocalypse-hardened badass

4) fuck off nerd :olo:

I see both points. But if this "situation" was to ever actually happen in real life, we would more than likely call our opposition something like "the authority", and we probably would be something similar to "the resistance". Only because we have nothing else to reference other than B rated films and id video games...

1)Why would there be multiple "authorities"? does it look like that place has borders and multifaceted regional organisations?
2) a brute ordering other brutes doesn't make him any less than a brute...fuck off with that logic
3)dude didn't look like a " post-apocalypse-hardened badass" just some girl in a post-apocalyptic situation...
4)i give you a simple explanation that would satisfy the situation, and then you take that and create your own expanded reality to support your bs. lol who's the nerd now?
5)fu

And you base this on four sentences uttered in a single trailer? You're worse than Brisk.

Didn't you say that RAGE is just a mindless shooter in the other thread? Expecting a decent story/writing in an id game is like expecting fatalities in Tetris.

That looks like a lot of fun. Did anyone notice John Goodman's voice in the early part there?

IMDB has him down as playing 'Dan Hagar'.

Daft as it might sound, the music in that trailer has given me more confidence than anything else so far. Pre-ordering.

right, because trailers always show off the worst bits of a game to discourage people from buying it. you're worse than dumb
