I got my 990DF today, hokked it up, nad it worked perfectly for about 15 minutes, when the screen suddenly flicked black. The monitor and computer still says it has a signal going to it, bit the screen is black. I tried it on another computer, and get the same thing. I've tried turning it off and on, along with plugging it up and unplugging it, all in various combinations, but nothing works.

Depending on where you ordered it from, call..
If you got it from a "retailer" like newegg.. call them first for shits and giggles.. tell them its fucked up and you want it RMAed and you want it done ASAP.. if they refuse to pay shipping both ways, tell them to stuff it and call samsung.. samsung SHOULD send you a shipping label and they will take care of you..
but since it was 15 min, im sure whatever retailer you bought it from, will replace it without much hassle..

Aye, it was Newegg. Said on their site that monitors are only thtough the manufacturer, but I'm on hold with them anyway.
Well, said I had to call Samsung to walk through some troubleshooting stuff (which is probably whats in the users manual, which I tried) then they'll give me a case number or sommat, which I call newegg back to give them, then they'll RMA it.

Good.. just make sure you tell newegg you arnt happy about it and could have spent money elsewhere on the item... bitch about "NEEDING" it and you are on a deadline for a project..
They WILL overnight you one back..
This is assuming you do alot of buisness through them..

Well, got my RMA number, and the guy said to keep track of the cost to ship it to them, because they'd re-imburse me.

take the cover off, make sure the monitor is turned on and touch the thick red wire connecting the CRT

Normally I would say just bite the shipping, but for a CRT monitor I can see why not wanting to pay that heavy shipping for a broken monitor would be pissy
