Bots Don't Roam on my New Computer?
Bots Don't Roam on my New Computer?
I was having problems with my last computer (Running Loud), and I decided to buy a new computer. It's a HP Slimline(Windows 7). I got it all set up and it runs, but the bots just stand there ... even on the in-game maps, it's the strangest thing? I set up my Icculus and moved my pak0-8.pk3 over into it, and it's the same deal. Is this a common problem with others?
Re: Bots Don't Roam on my New Computer?
What do you do to your PCs?! I've never had that happen.
Have you tried installing Q3 the regular way?
What mod/EXE are you running?
I don't know what Icculus is. Thought it could be a Linux thing but you said you are running Windows7
Does it say anything in the console?
Sounds like something's missing. If there's no AAS file (whatever AAS stands for), bots won't enter the map (usually). (The console says AAS is missing.) Maybe you're running some custom EXE that allows them to enter the map but not move around? Maybe some other custom addition is needed (to go with that EXE) to get them to move and you didn't include that in your install.
The AAS sets routes for the bots to folow around the map. Maybe there are some custom bots that don't need that or use custom AAS files or some custom AAS replacement. I'm not sure what the CPMA bots use but I remember reading somewhere that they have a different way of doing things than the usual AAS that baseq3 bots had.

Re: Bots Don't Roam on my New Computer?
I'll confess, I'm an idiot. I lost all of my things on my last computer when someone apparently thought that they could fix my problem. It's been a while since I've edited anything. I messed up on my scripts\bots.txt ... or something when I was giving them funname's and rail colors. It works now. (Begs for courtesy laugh.)
