Hi !
I'm novice and I don't know the rules .I have a problem with login in server .I entered in the game ,I click on "Multiplayer" and I hit Refresh to search Server .The Searching ended without results .That's all day .First I thought ,the problem was in my LAN ,but I understood that the problem is in the game .Tell me what can I do to join in server?I love the game ,but I can't play !

Quake Live is the best way ,but it doesn't work on my fucking PC .I guess there's no way to fix the fucking problem .

as for your initial problem, Quake3's master server has been down for ages. Use a seperate server browser to find ongoing games.

Master server is still working, in the multiplayer menu, hit space to stop the current search and make sure you select server : internet and not local, hit refresh after that. But yeah like MKJ says, you should use a server browser for searching servers, much more efficient. I use Qtracker, there are a couples, all free, on the internet, just google "quake 3 server browser"

I usually play in Master Server ,I liked him before this incident happened!

The master server is referred to a server from ID Software that keep tracks of the running quake 3 server. It is not a server where you connect to play actually. It will only give you a list of the current active Quake 3 servers that runs on the Internet. When you go into the multiplayer menu, you are now asking the master server to give you the list, you then choose on which server you want to connect for playing. The server browser from the Quake 3 multiplayer menu is really not fun to use because you have a very limited window of what you can get from the server's info. You can use an external software (to q3a) called a server browser for a better experience when browsing for quake 3 server in the internet. Try Qtracker if you feel up to it.

I can play only with Sarge .I change my bot ,but he doesn't changed . I hate Sarge .I will not play if that problem cannot be fixed!Fucking old Sarges .

If you are playing on your computer by yourself, it's only a matter of pressing the espace key and choosing the add bot option in the menu. If you are playing on a public server, you cannot change the bot except if you have the admin rights.

What was that -Server uses protocol version 68-what it means .I can play only in Massacre Servers and Assyrian Freedom Force .

You are trying to connect to a server that has a different version of Quake 3 compare to the one you have installed on your computer.

O my god .I deleted Quake 3 Arena protocol version 43 cuz I downloaded Quake3 arena 1.32 or Protocol Version 68 .Now I can't play cuz QTracker Couln't find the game .I'm so stupid .

Um, have you by any chance downloaded the demo of Quake 3 and are you trying to play that online?
Did you actually buy the full game or not?

No I didn't bought any quake 3 arena games .I have the quake 3 arena version 43 on local disk (D:) .I don't think ,this is the problem .I have quake 3 arena version on local disk (C:) too . In whom is the problem ?In me or in my PC

If you haven't bought Quake 3 Arena, then you're playing the demo version of Quake 3, which means that you're only getting a small selection of the levels and enemies of Quake 3 Arena to try and see if you like the game. If you like it, you can buy the full game to get all the enemies and levels. If you don't like it, then you can delete the demo and never play the game ever again. That is the idea of game demos.

What you did just now, probably, is try to install the 1.32 patch on top of the Quake 3 demo. This simply won't work and it probably broke your installation of the Quake 3 demo which makes it impossible to play it anymore.

But even if you didn't do that, then you can only play on servers running the demo version of Quake 3 if you're playing with the demo itself.

So if you want to play the full Quake 3 game, then go to your local games retailer and buy it. What's probably more convenient (if you have a credit card) is to get Quake 3 from Steam.

I have the same problem. For me, this problem go out after 2-3 weeks... When it occur, I play on servers which are in why favorite servers, like "massacre freezer"...

What I must to do .I don't want to buy quake ,I just wanna play ,but the consequences is so horrible .Now I can't play quake 3 arena online neither with bots .The answer isn't to buy the game ,the answer is so difficult and diferent .I know that you know the answer .I want to know this ANSWER .
