Hi all !

My name is Cheitan, I play regularly to quake 3 arena online, and I want to find a team, with wath I can play and have fun !

Depending on your internet connection you will play with people in the same area of the server you want to play on. The ping time of the players with server is the most important factor. You should also use a server browser for finding servers with players on it, it will be much more easier (if you are using Q3A).

No I only play to Quake 3 Arena. My ping is usually around 70... Is it normal ?

70 is not bad, but it is not necessarily great either. Where you do you play most often? The website FragLove which dghost pointed out has several French servers, so if you can get a game going there you'll have a much lower ping, most likely.

You can also download QTracker (http://www.qtracker.com/) and filter servers so only French ones show up, or French and German servers or w/e is desired. It`s definitely one of the best server finding tools you can grab imo.

As for teams - there are a lot of active clans in QL, but not so many playing nowadays in Q3, particularly the latest release. (1.32) The only remaining teams that are in Q3 nowadays are either very obscure, use a low point release, or are very restrictive. I could be wrong, but from what I have seen the modern Q3 scene mainly consists of unaffiliated players. You can, however, use pickup services such as #cpmpickup to find games, which is a gathering of several players who sign up on an IRC channel to play games. It is very efficient, fast, and fun, but watch out for the elitist attitude some of the players have there.

No more posts are usfull : I've find a community of q3a players. It is the "team" massacre, who play with the mod "freeze" most of the time. Thanks for answers !
