Rayman Origins

Without doubt the best 2d platformer I've ever played.
Everything about this game clicks; graphics, gameplay, audio, humor, fluidity.
And to top it off, every world climaxes in shoot em up levels that are equally brilliant.
It's a culmination of everything that has gone before in the genre.
Here's the gamespot review.
If you like gaming, you will like this.

One of the best games I played in bloody years... Also towards the end, my pad early went through the TV a few times. Beating the Living Dead level was just... Fuck...
The fact this game sold 50,000 copies only in its first month or whatever fills me with utter shite... I really hope it gets a sequel.
As an aside, I found this to be a lot better than any of the new Mario games... It THAT good.

I bought the Wii version of it as a gift for a friend. It was like 12 euros. I kind of regret not picking up a copy for myself as well.

Yeah, I'm not that far in yet. Only on world 4. And there's 10 worlds, I think.
But enjoying every second of it

Wait until you do some of the Gold Trophy time trials... Ho ho hoooooooooo... Last time I said fuck that much was... Well, never.
Amazing game though, I don't know anybody that doesn't like it. Even the other half will sit there and play it with me for hours without getting fed up. And the 360 version is full 1080p and just looks sexy as hell...

I'm playing on pc, but pretty much the same deal: 1080p, with xbox pad in hand.
Pretty sad ppl are ignoring this game, as you posted, with only 50k copies sold.
Gamers are doing themselves a great disservice.

Some other developer said it was on par with Xbox 360/ps3. Either way, Wii U should aim beyond current gen consoles to stay relevant for the coming years.

Yup, really not impressed with the Wii U. They should have aimed higher; they had the chance to be the first to release a proper 1080p60 capable console but blew it. Sure, graphics aren't everything, but copping out on graphics makes me wonder what other technical compromises have been made. I'm guessing low memory, small internal storage and relatively slow processor.

Maybe stating the obvious here, but make sure you get one with a USB cable. The wireless ones are only compatible with the XBox 360 itself.

stating the obvious is never redundant when it comes to ryoki.
