The film's site hosts an eight-page police report which fans are encouraged to scour for evidence that has been placed at physical locations in the real world. Via Batman's new rap sheet, fans have been instructed to tweet and email visual clues that have been scattered around the globe. The scavenger hunt requires fans to "submit photographic evidence of graffiti related to any movement in support of the vigilante's return."

all of a sudden copycat graffiti shows up everywhere...propagates promotion, at no cost.
I'm almost positive they haven't done anything and the announcement itself will create the content.

When people were taking photos of the various signs and stickers that had been placed at the listed locations, small segments of the trailer were released. Once all of the locations in the world had been photographed and sent in to the twitter/email account, the entire trailer was released. It was pretty cool- here's a link to a thread of people chasing down a number of the locations:

they done the harvey dent posters last time too innit ?, so you can print off and throw them up in the office or whatever, theyre getting better at this free advertising

Why the sudden hate? The first two movies of the Nolan Batman trilogy were awesome. This one looks to be more of the same quality. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Then I'm sure this movie will probably not live up to your expectations. Not sure though.
