Interesting. About how news is handled. Jeff Daniels starring.
Caters a bit to lefties, I suppose, but who the fuck cares...just watch it.
Finally a tv show that requires some intelligence.

Don't worry, friend.
Was just the booze talking.
Cruel mistress, that alcohol.
Being sober now, I can see everything is fine and just.

Yep, that's what made me like the show.
But then it gets watered down as it progresses. With a love interest angle? Who gives a shit, stay focussed! FFS

the funny thing about voicing one's opinion is the instant polarization that's placed on it. It doesn't matter what one says, and what shade of gray one paints, people tend to have only a very simple filter of right or left. Statements never get criticized on their own merit...they instantly get polarized and labeled... what follows next is just a simple approval / disapproval according to your own political views.

You can clearly see the fundamental mistake in that mechanic, and why any sensible idea is doomed to never see the light of day. Because lets be honest, the best ideas are never so polarized... they lie somewhere between the madness and eventually never get the backing they deserve from either side.

The main two party system is completely undermining any valuable progress.

you think online news is any better? you either read only the side of a story you want to be true (huffpo, drudge) or deal with this crap from the major outlets:

I don't think that, neither did i mention or label any source. My observation is all encompassing.

On that note, most of the time the voice of reason picks up a liberal hue, and it is immediately labeled liberal. Now this might be my own subconscious bias being that I generally agree with most liberal views, but I just can't help but think that anything with a conservative viewpoint always comes off as shortsighted, completely irrelevant and dogmatic.

It's understandable why this show can be labeled as a liberal circle jerk, but I honestly think a smart show cannot possibly be the work of a conservative group. Every single conservatively labeled media is riddled with stupidity short shortsightedness, is misinformed and completely detached from reality....so it's quite easy to label anything that is willing to be sincere as the work of a liberal propaganda...In essence, I'm calling Plan B an idiot.

oh, fully agree. i just happened to look at cnn.com a little too soon after watching the last ep of newsroom and the cognitive dissonance nearly gave be a stroke. loved west wing, loved this so far. will be interesting to see how the characters fill in since the supporting cast was what made west wing so strong.

Do y'all even pay for HBO?

yes. i'm way too lazy to torrent something, burn it to dvd (much less move my pc into the living room to plug into the hdmi on the tv), etc. also, paying for it theoretically helps the show keep going. i'm still a little annoyed that Rome only went two seasons.

Was perfectly unaware of this series. Peter Capaldi is great. Thanks.
