I've been watching Continuum, but it's kinda boring and moves really slow.

I've also watched the first season of "Person Of Interest"...but I'm not sure if it's sci-fi or not. It focuses on tech, but it's set in contemporary times.

Don't bother with Caprica. Sanctuary is decent. Falling Skies is decent. Terra Nova is decent. Eureka is pretty good.

Farscape, Stargate (SG1, Atlantis, Universe), Fringe, Firefly, Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Lost.

If you haven't seen Farscape, don't even consider anything else. So many great things about this show. One of the best villians ever, best ultimate weapon ever, best characters, great serial story with individual episode planetary adventures, I could go on and on.

Here is a hopefully spoiler free video of Scorpius

Since there isn't much one right now, Continuum is one of the shows I look forward to each week. The writing in Person of Interest annoyed me too much to keep watching.

Apart from the last few episodes I actually ended up quite liking Craprica. In so much as I lament its early termination.

My problem may have been that I expected it to be something entirely different. I came off BSG having no idea about Caprica other than it was a prequel. Then it spent an entire season following some brooding emo teenage girl.

I quite like what it had to offer the franchise, it was done pretty badly to start off with but by the second season it had begun to get its act together and was developing some positive story arcs which I began to have rolling interest in. ...Right up till they (prematurely) axed it. I also thought the emo girl was hot.

Seen this btw? its future is looking uncertain but I hope it's still in production http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar ... %26_Chrome

FYI, Terra Nova was cancelled after the first season....at least I think it was. It was "ok" but it, too, moved quite slowly.

lost is definitely a scifi, but with very light sprinkles of sci and fi.
Just like most scifi that take place in current times, it loses that plausible feel that most future set scifi's usually get around simply because the future opens up all kinds of plausibilities

Surprisingly, yes. The last season is really dumb but up to that point it is very cool.

You could get into some anime if you have the interest. Shows like Code Geass, Steins;Gate, Darker Than Black, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Gankutsuou, Mirai Nikki have great sci-fi stories. On the movie front there is Redline, Appleseed, Vexille, and Mardock Scramble.

Gankutsuou is pretty special. It is the story of The Count of Monte Cristo but set in the future/space with a very unique animation style. Steins;Gate is about time travel and has incredible character development. Code Geass is all about next level intellectual strategy. Redline is worth checking out for the animation quality alone. I wasn't that blown away but its hyped up to the level of something like Akira.

lol...my animation instructor worked on that show. He modelled and lit the spaceship shaped like a woman's body with the huge tits. One of his more fucked up projects to say the least.

The show is "ok" but it can also be really fucking weird.
