Three dead in shooting near Texas A&M campus

Three people, including a police officer and the suspected gunman, are dead following a shooting near the Texas A&M campus in College Station on Monday, police and university officials say. Four others, including three police officers and a female civilian, were wounded.

According to the College Station Police Department, the gunman was shot and taken into custody. The gunman later died, a police spokesman told the Dallas Morning News' crime blog. A male civilian also died in the "gunfight," police said.

So I'm guessing when everyone in that stupid country has been shot to death then maybe they'll discuss their gun problem like adults?

There's sort of a contagion phenomenon" after a shooting, where people feel they need to have a gun for protection or retaliation, he said.
That's already evident in the wake of the Colorado movie-theater shootings. Last week, reports popped up around the nation of people bringing guns to "Batman" movies. Some of them said they did so for protection.

Hmm, so I guess the tens of millions of legal gun owners in the US that DON'T kill people every day aren't responsible? No, see, SOME Americans aren't responsible enough to own or have access to guns. Taking away the rights of the majority due to failures of a very small number of idiots/crazies is, uh, what am I trying to say here, um, oh yeah FUCKING STUPID.

I have no new arguments here, nothing has changed. The explanation I have for the rate of gun violence in the US is that people want to kill each other. They use guns to do it. If we could suddenly remove all guns from the planet, guess what would happen? People would still be killing each other, they would just find other ways to do it. Why is that so hard for people to get? Gun crime is the SYMPTOM, not the PROBLEM. America doesn't have a "gun problem", America has socio-economic, educational, and parenting problems. America has shitty mental healthcare system problems. This leads a small number of individuals to kill people with firearms. Fix the aforementioned problems and we'll just be a fatter, slightly dumber version of Switzerland.

I'm at work so I'll reply better later but I would like to point out the ONLY reason people in Switzerland have guns is because the whole country is basically a militia: they have guns to protect themselves from foreign threats...not each other, not for "personal protection against burglars". So please...with sugar on top...could you and your NRA friends shut the fuck up about Switzerland's gun laws when the spirit of their law (at least in modern times) is completely different than the average American.
