Facebook page calls for American-only hours at U.S. Costco

Many Canadians are taking advantage of the high Canadian dollar by shopping across the border — with cheap milk and gas being two of the big draws — but some Americans are fed up with the cross-border crowd.

Some Bellingham, Wa., residents started a Facebook page calling for American-only hours at the local Costco.

Christ...they even hate people who are helping their economy.

i put almost $67.65 ( that put it somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4)in my tahoe today i never look at the price because what would be the point.

I drive an 04 Passat Wagon, haha my little panzer, and it doesn't get bad gas mileage but it's still almost $70 to fill completely and even that's making me think about getting something w/ better mileage or a decent beater I can fill w/ regular.

$60 USD is about €48
So you pay €0,90 per liter.

You know what we pay here? Pretty much double that, about €1,80 per liter.
That would mean that if you filled up (14 gallons) here in the Netherlands, you'd be paying €95,40 which is about $118 USD.

Is it still hard to imagine "anyone" to consider your fuel prices being cheap?

Actually it's when the world is falling apart that gold is at its most expensive. So if you want your gold to go up in value, you've gotta be hoping the world actually does go down the shithole.

I'd guess that gold prices fluctuate at the exact same time as ammo, duct tape and nuclear fallout shelters.

Right, but my point is that when the world goes down the shitehole, the banks will not care about your stocks or any money you have. They will simply take it for themselves and pretend you don't exist. Thus, possessing actual gold bars in a locked safe is better in this situation than a piece of paper that says some bank owes you X amount of dollars.

I don't know, intruders can try to force you to open a safe, you need more security; a safe is not the be-all and end-all of security.

Anyway, you may well be right, and I have looked at safes online before. They are pricey and heavy for their internal storage size. Also they would not include delivery other than to the ground floor, so I got no idea how much it would cost to get it upstairs (which is where I want it). Those things are heavy, they might need to be wheeled in on one of those things they wheel deliveries in on and be a great task to get up some stairs, which could be pricey.

(It would be pretty sweet to have a safe with some gold bars in it, though...)

Here I am thinking that if you had the money to splurge on fucking gold bars (I would guess at least several tens of thousands of dollars per bar, if not more?) you could probably also afford a safe and the delivery thereof. Obviously some criminal fuck could break into your house and make you open the safe at gunpoint but then some criminal fuck could break into your house and make you do anything at gunpoint so it's a moot point. Furthermore, unless you advertise your owning a safe on billboards posted around town, my guess is it will be fairly safe. (get it?)
