I just want to try make some small deathmatch level, but have no inspiration to make idea real...
It may be suitable for deathmatch, team deathmatch and 1v1 tourney. Player's load about from 3 to 9 for ffa or 2-4 per team for tdm.
I need inspiration for the layout and theme of level. Also there can be idea of level name.

Think of some maps you really like to play and then try and figure out what it is you like about those maps. These things may inspire you for your own map.

Thank you, axbaby

I know it's a lot of inspiring levels, but I have one inspiration now: Spaceship

Do realize that when it comes to real-world locations you should be
inspired by them, not try to re-create them in Q3.
What I mean is that if you build a prison literally in the way a real-world prison would look, then that probably wouldn't work very well in Q3. What you can do is design a map with a nice layout that plays well, and then get a prison theming going in your texturing and detailing you add. You could turn a bland wall into a row of barred cells for example. The cells would act as nothing more than scenery.
What would be a bad idea is to create a life-like prison with nothing but long corridors with rows of cells. That just doesn't fit in Q3's gameplay style. For example, r3t's "
State Prison 36" map is an example where the layout of his map doesn't necessarily resemble a real-world prison, but it's very clear that it is a prison due to the cells and other details.

I have discovered Evil 8 textureset on my computer and now I make the level's structure compared to a futuristic spaceship. This theme may stay, but the name should be changed from Enterprise Spaceship to something else if necessary... I also use the textureset I found on my disk (the evil8). I think this textureset is pretty usable for level's theme. I make from my fantasy, no base level, just inspiration...
[CZQ3DM1] - New small deathmatch arena in progress

New deathmatch arena with a spaceship look. Enterprise Spaceship is a bit bigger than the 'small' should carry, but not medium sized anyway. Player's load and of course also the size could change with the level growing.
Screenshots are not made yet, but in next days I should be able to pick screenies from editor to show level's theme...

This may sound a little blunt, but I mean the best... Please make a thread when you actually have something to show us. For example, at least a decent alpha layout. There is no point in creating a thread for a map that you are thinking of making or even early screenshots of the theme you are working on.
The point of creating a map thread here in LEM is to get feedback on your work in progress. But until you actually have something significant for people to comment on, these threads are pretty pointless. Post something back here when you have a whole level that people can actually download, run around in, and test.
Merging thread with your other one.

Ty obs for the advice. This time the level becomes more medium sized than small as the level grows up in the height. There's a platform (func_plat) that raise you by a flat. I want to keep good connectivity, will also use teleporters making that connectivity more depth. Also have made bobbing elevator traveling between lower atrium and the machinery entry...
Okay, weekly update couldn't hurt unless you want to see first live version (the early alpha). As said, I've used Evil 8 textureset made by Evil Lair, hope it fits the level's theme...
