I was sick to fucking death hearing about England's grand slam but it's understandable, I'd be excited too.

What pissed me off was the media making up the Lions line up with an England only squad, hailed as the worlds greatest, despite a sheer lack of flankers (yes, you have none). It seems they've given up on the English footie squad and decided they have a better chance with the rugby so spin any old bullshit to support their claims. If we lost that game the Welsh squad would've been labeled over the hill n past it, despite being almost exactly the same age as the England pack who are known as the young and upcoming super heroes, fuck off.

what I love about these home nations games is the way that when England beat any of the other three, it's no biggie, par for the course etc; but when one of the other three beat England it's one of the greatest events in their sporting history

Half of my vitriol comes from the complete bias that BBC places towards England. It could be France vs Ireland and some of the presenters will try and compare to England or bring them up at any possible opportunity. There are loads of other factors too, but that's a big one

Patriotism, past oppression, the shit I get working in Bristol and living in Wales/being Welsh and I just enjoy the banter and crushing people's opinions with my vastly superior Rugby knowledge

Lol when England beat Wales you never hear the end of it, it took many a year to stop groaning about your World Cup , I also have to avoid England on match day cos the rugby equivalent of the national front are out in force ;p. Only have to go as far as the coverage before the game to see the media bias and the wankfest that surrounds England, can't see any mention of our 2 grand slams since your 1 or that we were the team that retained our title for the 1st time since the 70s with a part time manager, its just england lost, not how Wales won. Even now it's put down to England having an 'off' day and they'll get better with experience even though they're the same age as our squad, tis a joke butt.


Wales vs England in the 6 nations always shapes up for a cracking game, it's a loose, open welsh squad playing from the wings vs a tight England pack playing through a forward line, with both usually being the in form teams. Many fond memories from these games with a genuine rivalry not just from racial backgrounds, mainly because of the close fought games over the years and the joy / catastrophe that's remembered because of it, but my 2nd favourite game was when we beat Ireland in 2005 then SA in the 1st game at the millennium stadium, it's not all about England, it's just a bonus to put your lot in its place

National anthem still isn't recoignised, the flag was only in the 60s despite being the oldest in Europe. Welsh language was only determined as the language of Wales in 2012.
