Brits--Teach me about the monarchy

I guess I could go to Google, but the hell with it. Anyway, a few questions:
Prince Charles is supposedly Prince of Wales, but how is that possible? If he became King or whatever, he would be king of England right and not King of UK? Why is he Prince of Wales, especially with wales being its own country and not say...I dont know, Manchester or something? Who decides these names and do they have any relevance whatsoever e.g. Camilla becoming something Cornwall.

as punishment the king/queen of england gets the say in whos the prince of wales, it dun mean fuck all to us tho and the welsh didnt really do much as king henry the VIII was a welshman and the welsh deemed it as a fitting title

They failed? I suppose it was expected. The monarchy is pointless, it should be scrapped entirely.
Why is the king (or queen) the head of the Anglican church? Why would anyone subscribe to such a church?

I'm all for monarchy. Democracy is nothing but a long line of disappointments.
Prince of Wales is the official title of whoever is next in line to become King AFAIK.

Henry VIII was who brought that about in the first place, splitting from the Catholic Church, I forget the reason.
Oh wait:
1529 Henry VIII decides he does not need to get permission from the bishop of Rome to have his marriage annulled. (The idea is probably Thomas Cromwell's.) He declares himself head of the English church (whatever that means), forcibly cuts the Anglican bishops off from communion with Rome, calls the Reformation Parliament, and marries Anne Boleyn. Services at the churches, however, remain essentially the same. (The mass is in Latin, there is no sermon or systematic Bible reading, and the people are passive and receive communion only at Easter, getting only the consecrated bread.)

It sounds like a pointless move. Why not stay with the catholic church to begin with? What's the reason for being an Anglican instead of a Catholic today?

Also: we don't give a fuck about them as much as they make out, I didn't really care that charles was marrying, why show it on TV all day? It's the same as when it's the queens birthday or something, they show it on most of the channels.

For the record, I'd love to see the cunts ran out of their homes.
For the people who argue they're good for tourism, simple solution, kick them out but don't blow up the fucking palaces and such.
The only worthwhile thing they do is being patrons of charities, Charles does a load of that AFAIK; it's not like in time these charities couldn't find more than ample replacements.
