Hey quake3world. Look, another of those near-future abandoned in space melodramas that seem so popular at the moment. Only in this one, if you go see it, you should pay special attention to how wonderfully detailed and realistic the interiors of the space capsules are. SPECIAL ATTENTION. (for they have been lovingly crafted by my very own hand)
Also, it actually looks pretty good. The director is the guy that did Children of Men (Alfonso Cuarón) so I have high hopes.

I can't see anything special about the interiors, but then I did just watch that on a phone
Looks good

That's because there aren't any interiors in the teaser!

What about all the bits flying towards the camera? Would that not class as bits from the inside.
Saves me watching and studying when I get home later

Nah, that's all CGI. We (in fact, I!) made a mock up in polystyrene of the exterior that she grabs onto in that scene, but it's all edited over in post.
The majority of the film is CGI, actually, it was fucking clever. For the weightlessness they had a massive cube in which the actors were in a rig which could be controlled either directly via a linked system where they could move what was essentially a toy spaceman and the actors would move identically, or they used recorded macros. The cube was made of those LED panels so they could render realtime rudimentary environments on them which meant they got all the lighting and reflections correct without having to bother in post.

That film has one of the greatest shots in all of science fiction, namely the scene at the end where they flee the violence. It lasts forever, it's superbly tense and the whole thing is done in 1 take! Ah, i loves that sort of thing, what a hero

Fuuuuck that. Just the thought of floating silently and detached through space gives me the chills. If they do this right, this could be a hellova horror/thriller film...

the universe spanks us for our hubris, some people die, some people survive, they discover their inner tree-hugger, before being rescued having learned a valuable lesson in humility, etc

Phant, this looks AWESOME. Did you do any research on these space capsules before putting one together? Maybe a tour of a real one?

Looks cool, but will this movie show us 90 minutes of people trying to hang on to things in space?

I love space epics.
phantasmagoria, looks brilliant.
Top marks for being (getting) involved with this creation even if in a small way, and hat's a compliment as it seems a great path you're on there, accompanied by Children of Men director, Alfonso Cuarón riding with you
