^ This. HTDA is okay, but it's not anywhere close to NIN. Any word on the actual album format and release date?
Wonder why Reznor is signing with Columbia, he did perfectly well self publishing. I thought he flipped off the record labels.

Everything I've read from Radiohead (self-published In Rainbows) and Saul Williams (self-published his Trent Reznor-produced album) is that self-publishing isn't all it was cracked up to be. Or maybe it is, but overall, they still make way more money with a traditional label for multiple reasons. At any rate, people that championed the movement in the beginning are not on-board now.

wonder if it's disenchanting work, you know? Like a lot of drilling down to the gold sounds and smoothing off the rough ones, like a proctological student suddenly remembering that the fat salary, vacation and yacht all come from a lot of minute, unpleasant work rooting around in other people's shit sockets.

HTDA was a completely different experience live. They put a lot of effort into the presentation, and it made for an absolutely, great show!
