Balls of steel for sure.
But I was a bit disappointed it was all tarmac. Wasn't there a similar track that went off the tarmac and onto gravel roads as well?

I was a terrific run (and had sections where he could have gone faster) and props to him for setting the record.
However, I can't get too excited about "a new record" for Pike's Peak since the goalposts are constantly changing. He had nearly 900 HP under his right foot, sequential gearing that shifts in like 0.000000003 seconds and...yeah...he's driving on pavement. In 20 years we'll be talking about a 7 or 6 minute run.
Nice run though. I'd probably go flying off one of the curves and plummet 4300 metres on top of someone's camper.

Damn, I had no idea this was going on. I stayed in Cripple Creek on Saturday and drove right by the Peak on Sunday. The wife and I debated on wether we should drive to the top, but decided to skip it.
That's some insane driving. Really cool...

Last year or the year before was the last time they had both, I'm pretty sure it's all pavement now. Probably also why you're seeing records fall so much.

nice vid, but i wished they hadn't kept cutting from one camera to the next, ruining the pant-wetting immersion

Loeb is the man! Who else than the best rally driver in the world to set the record
