I'm about to get into this hobby in a big way ($1000+). So I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with these. I plan on buying a micro or mini first, so I can learn to fly without the risk of crashing a high dollar quadcopter. But eventually I plan on buying a kit for a full sized quadcopter (or possibly Y frame) and being able to fly it manually or autonomously from a ground station. I'll even have a camera (maybe GoPro) mounted to the vehicle to record the flight and even have live footage at the ground station.
Anyone get into these?

might as well go for a nice size one... they are pretty easy to fly. the learning curve will be over within about a day, and you'll be itching to get the next best thing as soon as you get it in the air. Besides, those things are kind of build to take some punishment....no exposed blades, and mostly light foam material... not much mass there to get into any trouble.
also, look into getting one with a camera setup already.. makes leisure flyers like that more enjoyable/interesting.

No exposed blades? Most of the ones I've looked at have exsposed blades, such as this.
And also, most of the ones with the cameras pre installed aren't that great of quality. Plus I'm wanting to buy a kit to build my own (that's half the fun for me)...
