Quake Live becomes stand alone game

You know er.... like Quake 3 Arena. It's because browsers are quickly dropping support for plug-ins like the QL plug-in.

Possible better mod support?
No Mac or Linux support.
There's probably a fantastic way of implementing this, but I'm not too confident that that's what id Software will do. I think it'll just be a quick hack to make QL work exactly like QL only without the browser plugin.

Was hoping to know this. Last I played you had to pay extra for maps / servers / gamemodes which kinda sucked. I wouldn't of minded if I could've played on dm6

What you're getting now is basically a wrapper around the existing website. It's probably easier to do it this way.

some can't even let u callvote a map, not even dm7, for the past 4hrs all i play is overkill (fixed clipping) pfft, hell's gate, and noone wants todo even bloodrun
at least the kids get cod-ghosts, should be less LOSR's on for a bit, till they come back to a real mans game
