Don't Bubble

Did you know that most search engines use a Filter Bubble, so you only see what they think you, based on your profile they've compiled, should see.

Here's a link to an illustrated guide:
http://dontbubble.us/

Here's the link to the search engine you should use instead (linked to on that page, too)

Edit: Check this out, too:

i know about the tailored google results... and for the most part they do serve me well..

the only time true raw results are of any benefit is if you're about to go down a rabbit hole you usually wouldn't go down .

yes, and rightly so.

let's say you google the word "jaguar".
did you mean the feline, or the car?

if a recent search was "ford", you probably meant the car. you won't be helped with the wikipedia page of the animal as your first hit.

it does all the time, probably a lot more than you're aware of. that's why a search engine like Google is so succesful in it's results, and lately in it's autocomplete.

That would only work if you were always looking for the same thing, in which case you should use your bookmarks instead of a search engine :offended:

In your example, since you seem to need one, you are supposed to put withiout the quotation marks "jaguar car" You just need to know how to search intelligently, instead of getting a computer program to think for you, with all the disadvantages that entails (see the guide I linked to). An example in that guide (since you didn't seem to read it), is searching for Egypt: Surely you should know what's big in the news and on the internet (including internet news) about Egypt when you search for a term as braod as "Egypt"; not travel information just cause you often search about travel. If you wanted travel information you'd search (without quotes) "Egypt travel" or something of the kind. Again, if you always want the same sort of resiults that's what bookmarks are for, not search engines

I keep wondering how it's possible that you're entirely wrong so often yet seem to have a comprehensive grasp of language. It's like, you make the dumbest statements yet you're clearly not devoid of a certain intelligence.

Perhaps humanity would benefit from studying your brain...

But when you search for your Golf, it says "no results found".

You know a Golf and a GTI are two different cars right? I know you normally sound moronic but I'm just not sure if you're intentionally getting it wrong or if you're actually simply not grasping basic words and concepts.

Why are you so defensive about a car you don't own?

Nope, that's a car and a model ;). Assuming we're talking about the same car.

Yeah maybe I'm wrong, I swear though it doesn't say golf anywhere on the paperwork. There's also the whole Rabbit/Golf thing here in Canada cause VW decided to re-badge what's known as a golf in Europe as a Rabbit in North America and then switched back at some point in 2009 I think. It also doesn't say golf or rabbit anywhere on my car.

*shrugs*

Does this look anything like the car that you imagine you own?

[lvlshot]http://cdn.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/ ... cept-1.jpg[/lvlshot]

Because that's a 2013 VW Golf GTI. If your car doesn't look like that, then you must be mistaken and what you actually have in your garage is a lead pipe.
