I just wonder why they chose to use a new mixture instead of the usual cocktail in this execution?
Surely the aim is to cause death quickly and with as little pain as possible.
Torture before death just doesn't belong in our society, surely.

When they announced the rule of not supplying the US prison industry with the stuff they use for lethal injections i was sceptical... figured it was more of a symbolic move than anything else. Surely it would take about a week before a chemical company in the US stepped in and become the supplier i thought. Susprised that doesn't seem to be the case and some states have simply used up their supply and now resort to this kind of bullshit.

Maybe the euro companies have exclusive rights to produce the stuff or something?

well you know how things are done on the government level. It's not just about getting it done... whatever the solution to this odd situation, it will have to be tested and approved and scrutinized in which ever way. supplier, methods... will prolly have to be scrutinized in a good 'ol 'over the top' american fashion.
