Whats the best out there right now?

I'm going to take my Apple Cinema Display and pair it with a macmini..so I need to buy something to replace it for my pc. Should I just get another one?

Toxicbug iirc you have a Samsung S27A850D? What do you think of it or is the Dell UH2713's better?

Are there any other brands worth looking at?

Can it be a 30 inch? I bought one of these about a year ago at double the price than they are now .. they are very well made, good quality picture and you get a a few more pixels with it too. 2560x1600

oh I just looked that one up, do you really need 3840 x 2160 crammed up into 28 inches? I feel like that monitor should be atleast 34 I'd imagine the text will be super small on 28 but I am more interested in desktop applications so there's that.. .and also, why is it so cheap?

from what I understand windows8.1 added support for high-ppi displays. much like your phone or apple retina displays the text and UI isn't displayed 1:1 but rather scaled up to its approriate size and crisp as fuck.

aside all little issues on this I would be very tempted to get one... but I already have this 30".. so if I wanted to get a 2nd monitor I would be more inclined to getting the same one, that way I have a more consistent work environment ...yes no?

No, not like that, you moron.

8.1 DPI display settings look fine if you're in Windows, but most programs don't support it yet and will look tiny. I was playing around with an Asus laptop, screen was amazing but it got annoying quickly when you can't actually do any work without squinting.

yes. unless like me you and have one fine ass 120hz gaming monitor and you use a second one just as a workspace. I dont think I can deal with 30hz though.

I guess there are a few 4k monitors slated for release in 2014. I should probably wait a couple months. Maybe apple will release a retina cinema display

well, imagine a situation where I have photoshop open with a design , and my chrome browser /html editor on the other, developing said design. having coordinated color pallete and correct scales between the two would really make things flow alot smoother. SO yeah, I think having the same monitors would benefit my visual references.
