I have a fairly um 'colorful' group of acquaintances I've gathered over the years. Definitely have seen someone ruin his life over crack. Also, 2 heroine junkies. I dated a 'sober' ex-heroine addict (3 years clean at the time) and watching him talk about it or mention a story that involved it was completely revolting. Like he was missing it fondly.

Addiction is real, but weak minded people put themselves in these situations. I'd party in my early 20s, sometimes too much, but it never came down to getting drugs over paying bills or going to work.
