So this is the story of a female porn star who, for did a photoshoot for some adult magazine.
Cue Mr Bilzerian, a rich poker pro dude who chugged the girl off a 1 story high roof into a pool. Porn star breaks her foot, sues Bilzerian for 85 grand.

oh and this, yes, I had to look into it, but for some reason I thought chugging was also slang for throwing something in something else and that it wasn't limited to throwing alcoholic beverages into one's mouth.

You're thinking of the act of chucking. I chuck you a ball, you catch it. It's slang for "throw".
Slightly confusingly to those who don't speak the Queen's, to "chuck up" can also refer to the act of vomiting.

You chug down, and then chuck up.
As a mnemonic, "to chuck up" means "to throw up", ergo chuck and throw are the same.
