How to give yourself extra lag

I'm playing singleplayer against bots and I was pretty sure there was a way to give myself extra ping. Back in Q2 this was possible anyway. Isn't it just some type of command or does it have to be a code change? If it's a code change does anybody know how to do it?

Why you need to get yourself laggy? I'm not sure there is command to increase ping time, so it might be to compile new vms with code change, you will need source codes of quake 3, they're free to use and modify, you will need MS Visual Studio 2003 at least, you will need programming skills and you will need probably assistence at programming discusssion here at q3w. But why? Tell us why you need to increase your ping time?
