So what's the verdict on Guild Wars

I enjoyed the beta, but I was only in it for one weekend. It promised skill-based pvp. And how does the whole deal about affecting the world (but only in your storyline or whatever) work?
Is the combat better than World of Warcraft's? etc, etc. I know a few of you here play. Spill it.

No, it's about the same. Click a skill and wait for it to execute. Other than that, they are nothing alike.

Cba to make a new GW thread so I'm diggin this up.
So I'm a Dark Age of Camelot player, a very technical MMORPG, fitting out you char with the right gear, leveling it up, finding new items can be a pain in the ass.
What struck me in GW is that's a very simple and fast MMORPG compared to DAoC. I bough it like 3 days ago and I'm already at level 12. I'm really enjoying it though.
I made a warrior/necromancer, what professions do you guys have?

mebbe get some guildmembers to go along.
or, what i do when i dont feel like rounding up a party, get some henchman. theyre not great but good cannonfodder

gotta salvage stuff and build armor yerself
i wish there were more names for armors btw though. having 6 different types of "fur lined boots" is pretty annoying

thats fine with me sir. i wouldnt know since i never played WoW. the setting doesnt appeal to me, i thought War3 was a big letdown and a monthly fee is something i will never pay. so GW is my kinda deal :icon14:
