Why? I could pull that off in C# in a matter of a few days. It litterally has one level, no walls one weapon and about 3 enemies... The retro look is ok but if you're going to do a retro look like that you would need to add a lot more retro looking things to make it pop. I dunno, maybe I'm just not feeling it.

I guess the visuals, music and montage of the vid are what made me really excited. A real product with only this content better have to be cheap ! But it triggered my imagination so now I'm definitely following what's going on. Would a bigger game with nice environments and SP campaign be better than a highly polished procedural arena shooter ? Let's wait and see.
If you are talented in programming stuff, maybe you can explain me how the animation of flying snakes is done (I doubt any enemy in the video was animated by hand, except for the details).
I'm going back trying to find motivation to work on my textures

So, this game is out now. Here's a video of someone doing the current high scoring run.

Looks super intense, like a first person version of Geometry Wars. Sound design is awesome too. I love looking at it but I'll probably hate playing it. Too stressful.

Yeah indeed. I'm not sure why everyone keeps going on about level design. It's clear this is not your typical corridor shooter. The gameplay doesn't demand level design. It's exactly what it's supposed to be.
The design and aestethic is awesome. Truly nightmarish stuff. Halfway through the video some kind of huge floating structure comes into play which is a giant enemy. The scale of it is mind blowing.

Just found about this game, I just love it! 140 is my best score so far. Just got to see a caterpillar, then I died. I want to see more stuff! I think I'm addicted.
