Hi there,
I just miss my friends in 1.16 but since I got the full version of game with point release 1.32 it seems I cannot connect with them anymore and tells me the server uses protocol 43. I know what that is, but is there a way to connect to the server without the need to wipeout the full game and get back to the demo.
I think of one way that is to replace the game with the demo then associate my cd key with the demo and try. But I want to keep the current release if there is a way.

There used to be a few tools to switch PR versions, but they seem to have all fallen off the edge of the internet.

This thread for example, has a bunch of dead links. There is a note about removing pk3 files.

Otherwise, Q3 is a pretty small game so you could have more than one installation on your computer.

version switcher is what you need and you can get it here: http://www.akuta.proboards.com

You could set sv_protocol to 43 and be done with it. Th@ you could do using q3config.cfg.

Or copy the demoq3 folder into your installation, then load it as a mod.

To successfully run v1.16 you only need pak0,1,2 and 3 in your baseq3 folder. Then run the 1.16n installer, and you should be good to go.

Lieutenant, I was suggesting a fix th@ would work with PR 1.32/1.32b/1.32c.
