id Software is celebrating it's 25th birthday. The company was founded on february 1st, 1991 by just 4 people: John Carmack, John Romero, Tom Hall and Adrian Carmack.
I still remember the days when I knew the names of all id Software employees by heart, when it was 10 or 12 people or so.

Today, the company is quite a bit bigger than that :)

Don't they now also have a secondary office in Germany?

As far as I know Bethesda has started recruiting people for an office in Germany.

What kind of saddens me is that id Software is only id Software in name. Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched for the new Doom game, but these people on this photograph have little to do with the people that made Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake. But yeah, times change and we have to go along with it. I just cherish the fact that I can still play the original Doom or Quake or Quake 3 if I want to mentally get back to those days.
