Will an 8 GB Pascal series be better than a 16 GB Titan?

Zing!

Folks who say wait for pascal, mean wait for current top-end shit for cheaper. Not consume all the new overpriced shit :dork:
What about DX12 support?

pretty sure all the 9x cards have full DX12 support, not sure tho.

Although it does, articles I've seen suggest it takes a performance hit. The 970 anyway.

Indeed, officially GM20x is tier 12_1.

At the same time, it looks like it has some issues. Also, DX12 support is a complicated topic right now.

Overall, we'll just have to wait and see. Nobody knows if GP10x has hardware async compute support either.

Yeah it's the same thing for me. I'm holding out buying a new PC until I see what the new hardware does to the pricing of 970s and 980 Ti's
I'm playing currently playing Overwatch on a laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 8850M. Sure, everything's set to low, running at 720p and I'm capping it at 30fps, but it rarely drops below 25fps and the game is generally very well playable. The thing is, if you throw a 970 at it, I'm sure it'll run at 1080p with everything high at a smooth 60fps. There seems very little reason right now to get anything faster than a 980Ti these days. It's sad, but having PS4 and XB1 as primary target platforms does this to PC gaming.

I have a 970 at the momemt with a shed load of RAM and a 5ghz processor but DOOM still ran better on my PS4 than on my PC. I will likely end up shelling out £350 on the 1070 rather than £650 on the 1080ti

No it didn't.

edit: Or no, it won't. To be more precise :)

HQ Ambient Occlusion. Anti-Aliasing. Higher textures. Run a PC game on medium/high, with no other additions and aye, that's yer console version.
The quality was negligible given the fast paced nature of the game. There isn't a lot of standing around looking at stuff. I think you'd be surprised at a side by side.

For 1080p yes. 4K or 3x 1440p is a different story. Need 2x 980 Ti minimum.

Yeah but that's excessive. No sane person would go for 3 monitors like that :p

3x1440 is perfect for racing sims, for a flight sim you even could use 5 screens :D

Huh, you're right, I remember them being dearer. ..Guess I'm getting confused with the Titan X.
