What good news for you Brits! Maybe you can put the money you'll earn to good use by ordering expensive British built tank upgrades because no Brit can be seen in a German second hand tank (even though they're apparently better and cheaper).

The 400 workers at the firm's plant in Wrexham will be involved in producing axles for the trucks.
Isn't this kinda boring? Building axles for 1600 lifters? "You! Your job is to tighten these three screws! On 1600 joints over the next 12 months!"
It's good money for the company though.

The challenger 2 owns, the only one killed in combat was killed by another Challenger 2. The protection in those things is 2nd to none, during one conflict in Iraq the Chally 2 reportedly took 70 hits from RPGs and tank guns only for it to be fully operational 6 hours later. No injuries, was still combat ready.
Its predeccesor holds the record for longest confirmed kill n all, 3 miles iirc. The L2 wins in cost and speed, no surprise that they want to continue with the Challenger 3 development. The Challenger is regarded as one of the best MBTs.

I believe tank warfare is dead. Also I believe the Germans have the best tank closely followed by us?

Tank warfare being dead is a discussion topic but they proved incredibly useful in the Iraq invasion and they were saying the same thing then. Air power is obviously the most important thing but you can't deny a mobile, armoured gun platform wouldnt be useful for land grabbing.
And aye, the 2a7 is a shit hot tank but only entered service a few years ago and is an upgraded L2 in the same way that the C2 is an upraded C1. They give it new optics and a bigger engine (that the brits developed)'and more armour, still hasnt got the armour protection of the C2 though.
A similiar development is likely to occur with the Challenger and was probaly thought up because of the 2a7 and the Russians new MBT, they'll give it a smooth bore canon, optics and software upgrades that will kikely put it on par and the same engine that was developed for the 2a7.
