I expect nothing to do with Half Life 3/Half Life 2 Episode 3. Other than rebuffs from him.
I wouldn't be shocked if he announced Left 4 Dead 3.
I wouldn't be shocked if he announced Steam Link 2/Steam Controller 2.
I would like a fresh new game from Valve. But I think thats a little pie in the sky.

Orly? I haven't been listening to the grapevines next to the rumor mill, so what makes you say that? IMO, Valve isn't working on games anymore, they're too busy in the office doing lines off of Candy's g-string.

Well for a start they showed a L4D level made in the Source 2 engine at a conference...

I would be happy if he addressed the clusterfuck that is Steam Greenlight. And Steam Curators, and Steam's avalanche of shovelware, and Valve's overall lack of communication with Steam users.

Q: What is the status of Half Life 3/Half Life 2 Episode 3? Is Valve still working on any fully-fledged single player games? An unidentified anonymous source at Valve has said that Half Life 3 has been cancelled. Is that source legitimate?
A: The number 3 must not be said. Yes. I personally believe all unidentified anonymous sources on the Internet.

Never happen.
One of the primary Valve USPs is delivering narrative in non linear formats and film is basically the opposite of that.
It'd be awesome to work on though

And this means they are indeed working slowly on something that is a game... maybe...
We are continuing to use Source 2 as our primary game development environment. Aside from moving Dota 2 to the engine recently, we are are using it as the foundation of some unannounced products. We would like to have everyone working on games here at Valve to eventually be using the same engine. We also intend to continue to make the Source 2 engine work available to the broad developer community as we go, and to make it available free of charge.
