why was Great Britain so bad in WW2?...

been re-watching some world war II documentaries lately... one thing that i keep noticing is how horrible the Brits performed during the war. they constantly failed at almost everything. it seems the best thing they did during the war was keep a straight face as the Germans bombed them with wonder weapons. The Germans kick their asses, the Japs wiped the floor with them etc... what's the story?...
