I'm thinking of getting an Audigy2 ZS OEM (right now I'm using the built-in soundcard of the A7N8X motherboard) for $89CAD new, or should I get an Audigy2 NX instead? I'd profit from the exterior card since connecting my headphones would be a lot easier. Do they have the same chip/features?

Btw, is $100 CAD good for a used ati 9600XT 128mb? Would it be worth it to upgrade for me, since I only have a 9000pro 128mb and won't upgrade my computer for at least half a year or maybe more.

That is the same card I have...paid something around $180US for it. I haven't gotten to really give it the works yet, but it seems real nice.

Dude I only have $100 cad and I found that one used for $100. I'll get a 6800GT SLI for my next computer, currently I have a 2000+ which will barely keep up with a 9800pro.

Save it the 9600 was good a year ago now it can't run half of the new games. Unless you just want more fps in quake3, then get it.

For that price I think it's a good option.
If you could pay a bit more, I think it'll be interesting to see the low-end of the next generation (R520/G70 generation).

Hmm, I'm thinking about getting a 9800 PRO 128mb instead... I might find one for something like $175CAD, and I think it would be better since that way I max out what my computer can do.
Aren't low-end next gen (ie X700) PCI-E only? Because in my next PC I'll have PCI-E for sure, so I'll buy a high end card, most likely a 6800GT 256mb PCI-E, once I see how the next-gen cards score in the bench marks.

Oh, you're right. It seems only mid/high range are both AGP & PCI-E. I thought they all were. Nevermind then.
The 9800 Pro is what I have, it's a good card. And that's about 1/2 what I paid for it (though that was 18-20 months ago).
Still, I don't know it's worth it to spend almost $100 more now. You could just get your next computer that much sooner if it's just a matter of saving up the cash.

Well, if I can find a job I can save up $1.5k (approx) in a month, so $175CAD is nothing, and would hardly make any difference. Thing is, for sure I'm not getting a new computer till Qu4ke comes out, so I need something that I can play current games on...
