It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Jennell Jaquays, a visionary creator of Quake3Arena and a dedicated supporter of our community. During her tenure at id Software, she advocated for the development and funding of this site, leaving an indelible mark on our shared passion.

Jennell died due to complications related to Guillain-Barre syndrome on January 10, 2024. Her wife, Rebecca, has been providing updates on her Twitter account, https://x.com/burgerbecky, including details about the upcoming funeral.

To contribute to the funeral costs and support the family during this difficult time, you can visit her GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/jennell-jaqu ... -road-back?

In 1999/2000, Jennell served as our vital link to the Id team, and her contributions were instrumental in sustaining this community. We owe much of the site's existence to her dedication. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends. Rest in peace, our fellow Q3Wer. :tear:

Sad to see her go. I didn't realise that she was that old (67).
Rest in peace indeed.

There's a nice obituary over on Chaosium, highlighting the work she did in table-top RPGs.

RIP. Jennell used to be a regular contributer to LEM and wrote a large portion of the documentation for the development tools.

RIP. 67 is too young. I remember her posting in LEM from time to time back in the day, and as obs noted, she wrote a lot of support documents for radiant specifically, I seem to recall.
