Forum migration and upgrade feedback

Hi,
The forum underwent a large upgrade and migration to a new host. New registrations are still admin verified until we can figure out a decent bot prevention method. In the meantime if you have a new account and want it activated email: bytemother at gmail dot com. Same if you need your password reset.
You can upload your own icon in your profile, the old icons are here:
http://quake3world.com/ranks/
The forums have also been consolidated into General Discussion and ID Tech. The moderation team is now a group of global moderators with access to all the forums instead of per forum mods. They are:
Doombrain
Phoenix
Eraser
Don Carlos
Foo
obsidian
roughrider
AEon
Admins (these people can help with account issues):
raw
DooMer
MKJ
cityy
shaft
If you lost mod privileges and are upset about it sorry. Let me know and maybe I'll add you back
Go ahead and report any issues in the Bugs and suggestions forum. The top margin should probably be slimmed down a bit? Maybe, I dunno, you tell me.
viewforum.php?f=93
cityy did all the theme work, thanks a bunch

Testing, testing, is this thing on?
Edit: Cool, all working.
Will the avatars stay to the right forever, or is that something you guys are working on?
I've had a look to see if there's a user setting I can change, but it's not.
And I'm assuming the old smilies and their related BBCode will gradually make a comeback too?
:tard: :olo:
Oh yeah, and thanks for all the work too.
Keeping this place running for an ever-decreasing amount of users over the years is much appreciated!

The post counts had to be resynced, which means if the post doesnt exist in the database it doesnt count. Alot of the count came from the old ubb which never had actual posts associated with them in the phpbb incarnation of the database. I have the old DB running so it might be possible to bring those back.
If enough peeps want left side poster info the template can be modified

Damn, you're working fast.
Nice to see all the proper Q3W smilies back. They're still my favourites anywhere on the web, especially
Emojis?
We don't need no steenkeeng emojis!

Hmmm, ten posts per page seems a little low, no?

Small glitch, when you load
www.quake3world.com, it punts you to
https://www.quake3world.com/forum/portal.php which appears blank. Clicking the Board Index link brings you here, which works:

And add 1 more vote for icons on the left.
edit: And it seems I'm missing some 20k posts. Not that I care any longer.

Whoa, I was shocked when I opened Q3W. Shocked!
I'm not seeing everyone's avatars for some reason, including my own.

Looks like you were right. Clearing cache fixed it.

I see. Thanks. But... No bueno. The file is too large

There's a 6kb limit which feels very.... 2003

Also, is it possible to make the thread automatically show the first unread post or the last page of the thread instead of the first page?
Not a huge issue but this was the behavior of the old forum and I thought that was particularly useful.

I think the space after the forum header picture could be better utilised to help compress the page vertically, allowing the reader to get to the stuff that matters quicker.
As it stands, upon first loading, about two-thirds of the page is taken up by the site logo and the forum header picture, meaning you only see the first 3-4 topics before having to scroll down.
