How can I add folders to the left pane under other places for easier navigation to my frequently used folders?

Or just start up Windows Explorer. I've got a shortcut to it in my quick launch.

NM, I see what you're talking about. Hmmm, not sure, brb.

In any explorer window click Tools, Folder options then choose Show common tasks in folders.

But I think what he's wanting to do is add only certain folders into the subsection called Other Places. Not all the folders.

This is what I do:
Open Explorer.
Click Tools then Folder Options.
Click on the File Types tab.
Look for a file type called Folder.
Click on Advanced.
Make sure Explore is hightlighted.
Then click on Set Default.
You'll have to close explorer and then reopen it.

You should get something like this:

Since I don't use IE anyway (Firefox), I save all my most commonly used directories in "Favourites".
