The number of FCC complaints increased from a few hundred a few years ago, to a million in 2004. Thanks mostly to those thought stifling bible thumpers, they organized and flooded the FCC with complaints.

haven't read the book, and have no intention of doing so - but i saw the last half of a tony robinson show about it the other day where they carefully dissected it and explained (unsuprisingly) why it was total bullshit.

in that sense i think the wingnuts are right to protest it heading for the big screen. their book was published first, and giving them even more rubbish to mull over is only going to confuse the soft-headed little buggers.

It's a detective story ffs, not an anti-christian propaganda piece. Although the history of christianity and the catholic church is not as cuddly and sweet as the bible-thumpers may claim.

So-called liberal denominations of Christianity are losing support in the US because people believe they are not true to scripture.

That's unfortunate for the rest of us because those liberal denominations are more tolerant, less bigotted, and generally progressive.
