I decided to plug in and give pink floyd a shot. The mistakes are obvious, and the timing isnt stellar, but it's all I'm gonna do at 12:21am while watching south park.

enjoy....

Not bad. Sounds like the main things is that you need to relax a little bit more. Sounded kinda forced, but good overall. :icon14:

Yeah, I'm playing crunched up in a desk-chair, trying to avoid hitting the arm rests. The sound is rather buzzy because I'm routing it through Apple's Garageband program and am not too keen on the effects and all that. I cant play it through my amp, as it's late at night and I dont have a mic. :)

Considering all that, very nice indeed. :)

Nice bending and vibrato. That harmonic at the beginning should have been pinch instead of natural, though :p

Sounds good Canis, all these guitar threads and recordings is making me wanna pull mine out from under the bed and get playing again. :)

No, ... sounds good. Reverberation is a bit strong in this. For my taste.

It's the outtro to Floyd's Comfortably numb. The middle solo is relatively easy, and the rest is just a bunch of symphonic chords...

I'll re-do that sooner or later...some mistakes are tolerable, but there's a wrong note near the end that's just plain irritating...

Ok, so here's a quick remake with some accompaniment I threw in. It's a little better, but the errors are prominent...bleh. I love fucking around at the end...yay!

Thanks man! :) I appreciate it. Even though i just punched it out, I did spend some time working on getting to where I could play this sort of stuff. The next on my list is "Coming back to life" on "The division bell" album....damn good shit! ;)

Seriously? What do you pinch with? I'm a "thumb for squeals, finger for octaving" sort of guy myself.

Must be those accursed active pickups :icon33:

I use my thumb. The active pickups make it easier, but the ease of getting the harmonic depends on where you pinch it. I'm able to get pinch harmonics on my acoustic pretty well. The harmonic in this solo is an octave, so it's a lot easier to get ringing than non-octave harmonics.
