Hopefully you guys can help. Im running an MSI 6800 GT 256mb, and any of the newer drivers I think 61.77 and up, cause my games to freeze for seconds at a time, and the sound loops. Then retruns to the game. It does this randomly around 10 seconds to 30 seconds inbetween studdering. Normally when studdering has occured in the past, my hard drive is doing something, but when this new studdering problem happens my HD isnt doing anything. No HD lights come on. I just reformatted hoping it would go away(it ws time for a reinstall anyway) but the problem is still there.

Athlon 64 3400+
1 gig Corsair XMS
MSI K8N Neo Nforce 3 250gig chipset
MSI 6800 GT 256mb
Seagate 200 gig SATA 7200rpm
XP Pro SP2
DX 9.0c

Turn off system restore

Turn off drive file search indexing service

Don't have too much shit running in background, spyware scanners or viri scanners can eat up resources.

Reinstall your drivers with driver cleaner pro (Google it).

i have heard the 6800gt have a lot of stuttering issues. the problem was fixed by updating the vid card bios.

this could or could not be the trouble. just something you might want to check if you hit a dead end.
